Zoom 1 Deutsch - Unit 0 Los Geht's and Hallo!

Mega bundle for lessons Los Geht’s and Hallo, both lessons from unit 0 zoom 1 textbook. There are 2 extensive powerpoints, one for each sub-unit, with plenty of activities both from the textbook and created by me. These powerpoints have been created using zoom 1 as guidance, but like I said there’s a lot more than the textbook provides. Other stuff included in this bundle: a starter activity, a kagan-style cooperative speaking activity, 2 worksheets, a reading activity and a piece of homework. NOTE: look at the bottom of the slides (not in presentation mode) for instructions on what to do in each activity.

Spanish photo treasure hunt / Busqueda del tesoro con fotos en espanol

Photo treasure hunt I’ve created for year 9 students learning from home, to revisit basic language by finding different things, taking a photo of them (and uploading them into the document) and writing a short sentence describing them. Inspired in the topics from Mira 1 - 3 textbooks. Meant to be done within 2 periods, but obviously this is flexible. 26 things to find in total 13 things to find - using easy/simple sentences. 13 things to find - using a bit more elaborate sentences (i.e. giving reasons, opinions…)

There are a range of activities to do in the classroom, worksheets, vocab tests some homework ideas, and also worksheets. Look at the bottom of each slide to see any notes that might be relevant to understand what to do in a certain activity or where to locate it on the textbook. AQA AS La identidad regional - Tradiciones y costumbres

(0)
Materials to compliment the first four pages of the AQA AS level textbook on tradiciones y costumbres. Some of the tasks have been adapted to the textbook, inspired on other resources and others are just made up. It includes an introduction to the present subjunctive with a few activities to practise within the context of festivals. It also includes a reading and a listening on bullfighting which is a topic thats not on the textbook but that i find particularly key to touch up on. See notes at the bottom of every slides as you will find instructions, solutions to exercises etc.

spanish beginners - desk cheat sheet with name and key phrases for the first days

(0)
A nice, desk cheat sheet where our students will have a set of key phrases in Spanish (and their meanings in English below) facing them to encourage them practise the target language as much as possible in the classroom. On the side of the paper that is facing the teacher you will find their names written down to help you learn these, and 4 things they want us to know about themselves (e.g. a drawing of them riding a horse, a foot ball, music, etc) with a phrase that defines each picture. Perfect resource to do in the first days of school where children have no or very little knowledge of Spanish. It works really well because it helps us remember their names and get to know them a little better. Simply print it off, cut it out, fold it in two and stick the small flaps to the other half of the paper so that it can stand on your students’ desk.

There are 10 different questions and students get to decide which out of the 4 answers in each instance is wrong, with the idea to generate some discussion afterwards.

indicativo vs subjuntivo - actividad interactiva

(0)
quick interactive activity we can give our students to do individually to consolidate the difference between the indicative and subjunctive, perfect to do after teaching the present subjunctive for the first time. The reason for this activity to be done individually is because it has explanations (formation, uses…) on the slides that students can click on if they’re stuck. See preview for this.

Frases locas - find the odd one out / the wrong one

(0)
nice, quick activity that can be done as a starter, plenary or simply as an initial activity to gauge our students knowledge of Spanish. There are around 15-17 different combinations on each panel (left contains the subjects of the sentences and right the rest of the sentence), which by clicking twice on each will get you a random subject and second half of the sentence, i.e. “mis padres tiene ventanas” and students have to discuss whether the sentence generated makes sense and why, and how it can be changed in such a way it could make sense, if we want to generate some further thinking afterwards.

PLONK - GCSE tips for writing and speaking

(0)
A Spanish version based on the PLONK technique (points, linking phrases, opinions, nifty grammar & knockout phrases) to help our students develop and perfect their language in exams. This has proved very useful for my GCSE students, but also for my A-level ones. If you look at the preview, you’ll hopefully get an idea of the sort of phrases you will find in this document. It contains 4 pages, 1 for linking phrases, 1 for opinions, 1 for nifty grammar and 1 for knockout phrases.

A lesson planned for English File Advanced textbook, level C1. Topic corresponds to the first topic of module 1, ‘We are family’. Activities created to compliment and extend the textbook, but really it can be used as a standalone lesson on the topic of family. A lesson focused on developing the learning of family idioms, with practice across the skills of speaking, reading and writing. The slide notes pane has been populated with explanations on each activity.
